Therapy for young adults in Evanston, IL
Has the transition to college or adulthood been overwhelming and disappointing?
Maybe you’re away from home for the first time, or perhaps you hate the new job you were expecting to love. You may be struggling to keep up with the demanding expectations of college, or simply feeling incredibly lonely. Perhaps it seems like you’re not where you “should” be in life.
Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every part of your life:
Struggling to focus at work or in school.
Avoiding social situations and opportunities to connect with peers.
Missing deadlines and neglecting day-to-day activities.
Feeling shame that you are hesitant to share with your loved ones.
You can be happy again. You can show up at school or work as your best self. You can find purpose.
Therapy can help you…
Feel supported and cultivate self-awareness.
Identify patterns within yourself and your world that are not beneficial to you.
Get in touch with your identity and authentic self.
Develop strategies to feel like you’re thriving in your new stage of life.
I’ll help you through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My previous experience as a high school social worker is particularly relevant in working with young adults . Additionally, I have interest in and experience with supporting educators and those in helping professions. My approach to therapy with young adults comes from a place of compassion: this is a very difficult life transition, but with support and tools, you won’t feel stuck anymore.
